Respect

Push to earn it

only to lose

life long searching

goals found and gone;

Strive to reach for it

ripped from us at the last

almost assumed the top

yanked back by a toil;

Climb to the summit

slipped to the cliff

down here in the valley

Is not but, blood, sweat and tears.

OATH

Ah simple life,

exists to the left

norm to the right;

Be true to one self

walk the path

light is not on this one;

Trust yourself

for this is true,

no others care as much;

Trust others that

are of the same flock

they may never steer you wrong;

Hope springs endless

yet is lost in darkness

begging for the light.

Poems, part 1

TRUST

2 Ships that eb and flow

lost at sea,

lurking to and frow;

Do we dare molest there dance

or do we just

watch in eternal awe;

One tossed to the rocks

the other to the safety

of a slow safe, current;

Both were in same place

at same time

difference, path of choice;

Instincts lead both to their place

one to certain doom

one to eternal joy;

who was rite

who was wrong

only the rocks know that.
